The Ayana J. McAllister Legacy Foundation
Scholarship 2019
Dear Students,
The Ayana J. McAllister Foundation Scholarships were instituted March 2017 after the tragic death of our daughter, Ayana J. McAllister who was the victim of senseless gun violence in Washington, D.C. Ayana was a freshman at St. Augustine’s University in Raleigh, N.C. majoring in Criminal Justice and hoped to pursue a career in law enforcement. To honor our daughter, one scholarship will be awarded.
We are offering one (1) scholarship. The Academic Scholarship is designed to award one (1) high school senior(s) and/or current college student(s) from the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area (Southern Maryland, Washington, DC, or Northern Virginia), who plan to attend or are currently enrolled in a four- year college, who has personally been impacted by senseless gun violence and is planning to attend college or is currently enrolled in college in a full time status.
The application criteria for the scholarship can be found by downloading the respective PDF on our website (see embed link to the Academic Scholarship above) and we encourage you to apply. We hope to award 1 scholarship in 2019 but the option to award more will be determined at the end of the application process.
The deadline for submission of the application is May 18, 2019 and awardees will be notified in early June 2019. Awardees must be present at the Annual Scholarship Benefit to accept award.
We look forward to reviewing your application and video submission. If you should have additional questions please submit email to Yvette Mimms at ajmlegacyfoundation@gmail.com.
Sincerely,
Anthony and Tyreese McAllister
